While their are ongoing investigations into mistreatment of prisoners by American and now British troops, I came apon this story in katu.com2 about Oregan National Gaurd members serving in Iraq who tried to intervene to stop abuse of Iraq prisoners by Iraq police.
While on the subject of Iraq the interim government has closed the Baghdad bureau of Al-Jazeera. Evidently the Ministry of the Interior said that Al-Jazeera had failed to show the reality of Iraqi political life. Perhaps the Ministry of the interior would prefer this site which seems to have only good news stories about Iraq.
